The 'government' of Spain deemed the referendum to be illegal! The EU has said little in the matter hinting this to be a internal issue for Spain. Both the local police and firefighters sided with the people!
It might look like this is only about money but it is about much much more it is about having the freedom to actually apply your democratic rights to vote and to follow through on the actual outcome of the votes.
Now isn't that very interesting?! The Serbs had no say when Kosovo voted for independence from them. The Kurds have little say as well concerning their recent referendum of independence.
Do you remember Crimeas referendum that also was deemed to be illegal by the EU and their allies?
Why is it that some referendums can be called upon to be illegal and others don't? Do you see a pattern here? When deeming a referendum illegal you are actually saying that the people votes does not matter.
Democracy is built on people having their voices heard through voting.. but it seems just to be the case when it suits the establishment. Look at the UK Brexit vote.. they did not expect that and now they are juggling options.
I think our current indirect democracies is falling hard! It might look like this is just some peoples business but it is actually everyone's issue.. since everything and everybody are connected.
The hypocrisy and the double standards are everywhere to be seen..
We are the one's we've been waiting for.
